From the Pastor's Desk
How are you doing in your 40 days of praying for the lost? I find it most helpful to write out my prayers for each person in the “Reflections” part of the daily devotional. I am already seeing some results. How about you?
Holy Week (March 28 thru April 2) will be here before you know it. On Palm Sunday night (March 28) we will have a musical concert by THE REVELATION QUARTET. They are from the Jackson area. It will be a fun and a powerful experience and also a wonderful way to kick off Holy Week. It starts at 6:00 p.m.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday night we will have special guest speakers: Rev. Guss Shelley, Rev. Ricky Reece, and Rev. Keith Keeton. Following the Gospel of Mark they will share with us what the Lord did each day during those days of Holy Week. There will be awesome special music each night. Thursday night we will have a special “Holy Thursday” service in the Fellowship Hall. And of course we will have a special “Good Friday” service in the sanctuary. All these services will begin at 6:00 p.m. I want this most important week of the year to be very special. We make a big deal about Christmas, but Holy Week is the most important week in human history. We need to walk through it slowly and with deep thought. We know more detail about this week than any other week in the life and ministry of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We don’t want to miss anything. We want to join Him spiritually in every detail of each day. So please set aside this week to be with Jesus and don’t let the devil keep you away.
